A clearer first conversation about cabin power.
An independent guide by Jack Quinn.
Why Cabin Power Guide exists
Choosing equipment is easier once you understand the job: a weekend’s lights, a seasonal refrigerator, a well pump or a year-round winter home. This site organizes those early decisions so cabin owners can ask better questions and avoid comparing unlike systems.
What the work is—and isn’t
This is an independent, solo editorial project led by Jack Quinn, with New England and cold-climate cabins as the starting point. It draws on manufacturer information and practical decision research. It does not claim a testing laboratory, a staff of engineers or hands-on product testing.
Cabin Power Guide is not a licensed electrical contractor. The guides, questionnaire and calculator provide educational planning support, not installation services, engineering design, a binding quote or guaranteed compatibility.
How picks are handled
We explain who a product might suit, its limitations and its climate considerations. A bigger product is not always a better answer. Supplier details can change; the current manual and professional site review take precedence. Technical notes remain draft planning material for owner review.
